ITS TIME TO PARTY!!!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe New Years Eve and Day!!! We stuck to our family tradition.... We stayed home and I made tons of finger foods and watched 3 movies, with 3 out of the 5 kids. The 2 big boys were at the Grandparents house. It was really nice and Quiet well almost..... It was Not quiet outside.... Ha Ha!!! It was so quiet (inside) that everyone fell asleep before midnight. I did wake back up right after and told Karlton and Joel Happy New Years, they told me back...... in their sleep. LOL.... Josiah was nice enough to call and tell me Happy New Year. As for my other son well.... nothing! We didn't even toast the New Years in with our Sparkling Grape Juice this year. But, I did gave it to the kids for dinner tonight. ;0)

Here is what was on the Menu :

~ Bacon Wrapped Scallops drizzled in butter and cracked black pepper. (that was my first time making them and they were Delish!!!!)
~ Shrimp Cocktail
~ Cajun Crab Dip
~ Veggie and Dip Tray
~ Fruit Platter and Cheese Platter
~ Artichoke and Spinach Dip with Tortilla Chips
~ Chips and Dip
~ 2 types of Crackers

~ Yogi Bear ( Kids)

~ Monte Carlo (all of us) I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! ( we saw this at the theater because of PARIS!!)

I am finally posting some pictures from our Anniversary Trip from back in July, right before the kids car accident with my mom.

This is the place we stayed at " The Eliza Thompson House". We Loved it, it was really beautiful! We did not get a lot of pictures of each other and the ones we did get are not great. Yes, I have my eyes closed in the only picture of me. lol.... We Love Savannah and are so happy to escape there anytime we can! Stay tuned for more pictures to come...

First Day Of School 2011

Well Lilee started Kindergarten today! She was soooo excited!!! Karlton and I both drove her for her first day but since they will not allow parents to walk their children in, I had to rely on Joel and Sara Ava to take her were she needed to go.

I think they did a good job! Big brother was looking out for her. I'm not gonna lie. I got a little emotional...Didn't think I would, but I did. Not I am home alone until 2pm everyday , I'll let you know how that works out since I have had officially 56 minutes of alone time so far. :0) Today I have lots of grocery shopping and errands to keep me occupied.

Yesterday the other 4 kids started school. First the 2 elementary kids were take by 7am. Joel is in the 5th grade, his last year in elementary. Sara Ava started 2nd grade.

Then it was time for Josiah to head to the Middle School. He is an 8th grader, his last yr. at the Middle School.

Then It was our big guys turn to head to the High School. Jordan is in the 10th grade this year.

Everyone had a great first day of school yesterday. Lets hope that Lilee does today :0)

Where Have I Been??

Well..... 3 weekends ago Karlton and I snuck away to Savannah, GA for our 16th Anniversary Gift to each other ALONE!!! We had such a great and relaxing time...AAAHHHH! As soon as we started to head home, we had just got on interstate 95 when we got a call that my mom and 3 little ones were in a car wreck. So instead of going home to drop a piece of off that I picked up while in Savannah, we made a B-line for Myrtle Beach. It ended up taking about 4 hours.....which felt like 12. Try driving 4 hours in a panic! Ugh.... I was so happy to get to my kids!!!! Once we picked them up we headed home for the ER. The kids wanted to wait for me to take them to the ER. Their injuries didn't seem as bad that day (other then bruises, and swelling, neck and back and head aches) as they turned out to be. So for the last 2 weeks I have been taking kids to the Dr. and trying to get them all well again. Every time I think they are getting better they develop new problems. Ugh....... Please keep praying for them to heal!

Joel's injuries include bruising of his bones on the right side of his body. Really Bad bruising on his chest and stomach from the seat belt. He possibly has a fractured rib on his right bottom side. His muscles and ligaments were torn from his ribs on that side too causing swelling. His Neck and Back hurt his as well. His stomach and as the Dr. explained it to him all his guts were bruised and smashed all up causing him to not eat for over a week and have really bad acid reflux. He has been taking meds to help the acid, and has been eating better recently.

Lilee was in her car seat which is a 5 pt. harness. She hit her head and now is having neck and back problems. She has just started waking up in the middle of the night crying saying her neck hurts her. She also had bruising from the seat belt and some on her back.

Sara Ava was in a booster seat with the vehicles seat belt. She flew up and hit her face on the back of the seat which caused her nose and face to swell and bruise. I thought for sure her nose was broke by the way it looked. It took about 10 days for all the swelling to go down and the bruises are finally fading away. She has been having tons of head aches on the side and on top of her head. She had bruises all on her back. She is having a lot of problems with her neck and back as well. The Dr. said the kids muscles are all knotted up and that is what is causing their head aches.

My mom is having back and neck issues, along with headaches.

If we don't have to go back to the Dr. before 8 days that is the next schedule apt. I will probably be taking them to a Chiropractor once they are released from the Dr. I just did not want to interfere with one another to cause any problems.

Here is a couple of pictures of the other vehicle. This Suburban rear ended my mom and kids doing about 50. They to were also in a Suburban PTL! The guy said he could not get his breaks to stop in time. After he hit them he flipped over on his top in the ditch. We are So Thankful and Praising God that is was not any worse then it was!!!

Look closely....do you see window frames hanging on my fence? Even though I was taking pictures of my flowers you can still see the windows in the back ground. I found these old windows sitting on the side of the road, and stopped and picked them up. Actually I made poor 10 yr. old (Joel) jump out and get them. lol....

I had another decorating idea in mind for them but, when I was out side one day I thought my fence looked a little bare and attached some hardware to these windows and hung them up. Karlton does not like it, he said it looks junky. I told him it was my Garden Art. Then being the smart butt that he is, asked me did I want him to cut out the fence so I can look through the window.;0) lol..... I said no thank you btw....

Today is our 16th Anniversary! It is so hard to believe that we have been married that long and at other times it seems like only yesterday. God sure knew what he was doing 16 yrs ago when he told me in a dream that I would marry this man, because I had no clue! lol.......

Happy Anniversary to my Best Friend, my favorite travel companion, and the best daddy I could have ever chosen for my babies.

7 MILES

I ran 7 miles early this morning without stopping. I can not believe I'm finally getting up near my goal for a 12K, I want to run this fall. Only 1/2 mile left to go. Karlton rode his bike as I ran today to push me! He said he has a whole new respect for me and call me a "little running thing". lol......... Oh! BTW.... What do you think of my new ( Brooks) running shoes? I had to get a larger pair this go around. I grew out of my other ones. I was told once I started running a 10K my feet would get bigger. Well its true! They also swell when its really hot! This time I wanted something that would not look so dirty since I run in All elements. Brooks are truly the best running shoe for me anyway. This is my 4th pr. of running shoes ( of which 2 of them have been Brooks) in my 2 yrs. and 2 months of running. ;0)

Friday Night Karlton and I went to a Black Tie Charity Gala at the Ballentyne Resort. I was excited because we got to play dress up! Can you tell???

I was ready before Karlton ( like always ;0) ) and while waiting had the kids take some pictures of my dress! I Love my dress! I want to wear it all the time! lol.....

The first 2 pictures Sara Ava took on my phone. She can't quite work my camera yet.

Then Jordan came out and took a few pictures of me while we were still waiting on Karlton.....

Then guess who was finally ready!!!!

Josiah took over the rest of the pictures. I think all the kids did pretty good taking pictures! Don't you?

We felt like we were going to the Prom! Since Karlton and I never went to the Prom together I told him this was our Prom. Karlton was not as happy as I was to play dress up though..........

Then it was time to go....

We had a good night....even though I thought the food could have been better.

Painting Again....

I am at it again.....painting that is.... I am finally finishing up my kitchen that I have been working for a couple of years now....First, We had to replace the lower cabinets and to get new counter tops. The cabinets I had did not match so I painted then. Then, Last Spring I got a matching counter top for my island to match my new counter tops. Then I painted my island to match the cabinets before Spring Break. I also bought a some test paint and painted a wall and lived with that for a while. I liked it so this week I finally dove in and painted All the kitchen walls. I only have the first coat up but here is a sneak peek.....

I bought this picture in Savannah for the kids bath room but it found its home in the kitchen. So now this is the inspiration for the kitchen make over. This is what inspired me to finally finish my kitchen make over!!!!

So what do you think so far????

I am decorating my kitchen in prints I brought back from Paris!!! Oh Paris............ How I Do Miss YOU!!! Anyway, I first have to find frames for them. Can't wait to finish this never ending project!

The Last Song

Remember me telling you about " The Last Song Movie"..... This was Ronnie's Dad's House in the movie. We camped out and played on the Beach in front of this house while we stayed on Tybee Island. I wish I would have thought to have taken a picture of the driveway up to the house. Oh well.... We always stay about 1 block away from here on the South End. We Love it and We Love Tybee!

We also Love this movie! Last year we stayed on Tybee too for our family vacation and we went to see " The Last Song", at the movies. Without knowing where this movie was filmed at I was quite shocked to be watching everywhere in the movie that we were at or like the Wormsloe Plantation, we had just gone to that day. So that is why this movie is really special to us. We also brought the movie (YES! we bought it too) with us to watch while we were down there to watch again. It was really special to be watching the movie on the Island w/ my entire family!

We love to go to Wormsloe Plantation every time we are in Savannah and Tybee Island. We love to go and walk around and enjoy the beautiful scenery. This time we took a picnic and then afterwards while Karlton took the kids to see all the exhibits and to hike I went for a run. The driveway is 1.5 miles lined with these gorgeous oaks. I have always wanted to run down this, so this time I made it happen. It was so peaceful and beautiful I could do this everyday and not get tired of it. By the time I caught back up with my crew I had run about 4 miles. I got my run in that day but it did not feel like it at all!

Have you ever seen the movie " The Last Song"? If so, you should remember this is Will's driveway, His house is also down the driveway but people still live in the house so it is not open to view. Which is ashamed since it it so beautiful. I tried taking a picture of the house through the tree but you can hardly see it. Plus, I was running and took it on my phone so it it not that great.... (I did not include it.) I will post more on this movie and why it is so special to us soon!

Family Vacation

We just returned from our yearly family vacation. We went to Tybee Island, GA like we did last year. We had a wonderful time! Here are some pictures that I took from my phone so the quality is not that great. The first 2 pictures I took in black and white and then used some special effects. We took 4 of the kids to Carowinds on Saturday, our 2nd trip of the yr. We were planning on taking Jordan for his birthday but he was not feeling well enough to go. But... since we had the day planned we still went a head and went.

This is Late because I was having trouble logging into blogger...Better late then never I guess!

I can not believe that this child turned 15 years old on Monday! Yes, it is true....hard to believe but its true! He thought he was going to miss the first part of school on Monday to go and get his driving permit....NOT!

I have been totally unwilling to get his permit until he told me he can not get his licence until he is 17. I think they just passed that law in SC? Not sure but I like the idea!

Happy Birthday Jordan! We Love You and are very proud of how hard you work in school and all the goals that you set for yourself and achieve! Keep it up buddy!!!

I have been thinking about Paris/France a lot lately! I Really love that place! I have just realized that I have not shared that many pictures with you all. So... here are a few pictures of one of our Favorite places that we visited in Avon, France.... Chateau Fontainebleau..... I took a ton of pictures at this place. It was gorgeous inside and out!

My First 10K

I ran my first 10K yesterday.... Run! Ballantyne. There were over 900 participants. I have been training so long to do this I can not believe it is over with already. All these pictures are courtesy of Josiah, my 13 yr. old son. Some of them are truly not flattering at all. I am not a pretty runner, just wanted to warn you. lol....

A Pre-Race Picture!

These 2 pictures are at mile 4. This was the first time my family saw me running. At the start of the race there were so many they could not find me.

These next 2 pictures were at 5.8 miles. I thought I was at the 6 mile mark and started to gun it a bit to early because I got sick and almost through up, and then had to lay off my pace until the very end....

Someone directing me where to go.... Apparently she thought I had no idea. lol.....

Finally nearing the finish line. I have never been so glad to see it in all 5 of my races!!!

This girl though she was going to pass me....

I took her in the end. ;0)

All finished and still standing....barely! Notice Karlton was not getting to close to me because I was very sweaty, stinky, and had no make up on. I would not want to stand by me either! The kids would not get near me and kept telling me how stinky I was. Nice huh!

Still waiting on my official time... I know my time was not great because this was the most hills I have ever done and there were so many people!!! For the first .3 mile it was bottle necked and I could not even run to set a pace. ugh..... The 5K and 10K ran together for the first 3 miles. But I kind of knew that would happen! I also had to run with my arm over my head for a long time trying to get air in my right lung. My asthma started acting up on me at mile 2. But I survived and finished the race with out walking one time. That was the most important things to me!

Josiah had asked me to take pictures of him last week and as we were taking this picture Daisy decided she would come up and put her paws on either side of Josiah's head and almost laid on him. Since we thought she wanted her pictures taken so badly Josiah decided she had to wear some shades too.....

I think she was trying to give us different looks for the camera. The first one she was trying to play suave and the last one all smiles. I think she was watching Josiah a little too closely! lol....

How I Spent My Mothers Day

I woke up to breakfast waiting for me via my sweet little Joely! He made it all by himself. ;0) With some flowers on my tray.

We got dressed for Sunday School. Josiah took a couple of picture of me in my Ooo Lala Dress that I bought for Paris, from The Shabby Apple. I was suppose to pose in front of the Eiffel tower in this dress, just like th girl in the picture....but forgot to. I did wear this dress in Paris but not on either day we went to the Eiffel Tower. :0(

We went to one of my Favorite Restaurants for lunch, The Macaroni Grill. We had an hour and a half wait so Josiah and I went to the mall while everyone else stayed to wait.

We had a lovely meal...as yummy as ever...including my piece of Chocolate Cake. Mmmmm...

On the way home we stopped to pick strawberries but they were closed. :0(

Then we came home so that Karlton and I could take a nap. We both had headaches and I was trying to get rid of mine so that I could run my 6 and 1/2 miles, and I did run.

Karlton hung a cabinet over my Washer for me, so that I can have more storage, ya! And...... that is how I spent my Mothers Day!

Oh BTW.... I got a ton of cards and some very special home made cards and gifts from all the kids. Karlton bought me 2 bouquets of red roses. I think with a little help from Jordan. He was trying to get me to buy them for myself earlier that day...lol.... So I could not have asked for a better Mothers Day!

Paris In The Spring

So what is the Big Deal about Paris in the Spring.... Especially in April??? I have been told and have read many times about how beautiful Paris is in April! I must admit I Was Not Disappointed At All! ;0) From the City of Paris, the little town of Avon, the little town near Versailles, and all the Gardens of all these places...they were all decked out in their Beautiful Spring Flowers!!! Especially Tulips.....Lots and Lots of Tulips and I Loved It!

Hanging?????? I just took the best trip of my life and I have not really begun to tell you about it! I am really sorry! I have been trying to post some fast pictures to tie you over with.....Is it working??? No, I am not stalling....It has been a rough week for me, I had jet lag Really bad for almost a week and then as soon as I got back to the US my allergies went all crazy and I was sick for a week. I'm still not the greatest but I do see improvement! Then on Wed. Jordan called me from School sick saying he was about to throw up, he was home Thursday too. He had a virus with everything but the throwing up, just stomach pains..... He went back to school Friday. Joel left for a big 4th grade Field Trip to Myrtle Beach..... Saturday was good... I took the 2 big boy shopping. Sunday, we Finally got to wear our Easter Outfits (a week late), went to church, then out for a bite to eat... then came home for family pictures..... when All H*#! breaks loose. Sara Ava started throwing up with no warning what so ever all over my bed room floor (luckily it was the tiled area!). Then from there it has been non stop.... never ending.... sitting on the potty and throwing up ordeal for almost 24 hours. Lots of mess....showers and laundry!!! Could it end there nooooo....The school nurse called this morning saying Josiah was sick to please come and get him. ugh!!! Luckily.... Karlton was nearby and he went to get him for me. I can not take Sara out of the house right now! Please say a prayer for my 2 sick ones and that Lilee and Joel does not get this. It is a lot harder on the little ones. Josiah is in bed now with stomach pains and fever, but no throwing up yet.....

Lets take a walk with Joel over the week he spent in Paris in his French hats. ;0)

It all began the the 2nd day when we went to eat in an Italian restaurant. Our Waiter came buy our table and stuck these hats on all of our heads.

Then Joel Decided he wanted one. Joel was trying on some hats at a little shop. He was trying to decided which style suited him best. He liked the first hat he tried on and Karlton and I liked the second hat. What do you think?

At first he only bought this hat............

The French ladies loved him in this hat and outfit! Especially the older ones ;0)

Then before we left he bought the other one. Which I think were both a good choice!

Then it was time to leave and start back home. But first we stopped in London for some fish and chips at a pub in the airport.

Then we had to stop in NY before Joel boarded his last plane home. Joel got a lot of compliments in London and NY with this hat! ;0)

The Good, The Bad, And The Beautiful!

We started our trip to Paris off with a bang.....Remember those storms that rolled through 2 weekends ago? Well were caught in them! We left Saturday morning for the Charlotte airport and was suppose to fly to Atlanta for a short layover and then to NY, and on to Paris. But Oh No........ it could not be so simple. We did make it to Atlanta....barely. We had a really bumpy flight on a medium size plane....This was Joel's first time flying and I felt so bad for the poor kid! He was shaking and his teeth were chattering the whole flight.... Thank goodness that was a short flight! Once we arrived in Atlanta our flight was delayed twice to NY because of the weather being so bad, which caused us to miss our flight in NY to Paris. So we had to stay the night in Atlanta...ugh...ugh...ugh... I wanted to cry! The other great news was they could not pull our luggage off the plane and it would still travel to NY. Nice huh!!!! We did get a direct flight to Paris from Atlanta so we skipped NY all together. But, our flight was not until 3:15 on Sunday so that meant we would not arrive in Paris until Monday! Waa....A whole day lost in PARIS!!! By this time I was not a happy camper.... I kept checking to make sure our luggage would be there waiting for us by the time we got there and they kept checking and saying it SHOULD..... We finally arrived in Paris early Monday morning and guess what???? No luggage...what a surprise! So we filed a claim and sat in a office for over an hour after we waited almost an hour for our luggage at the baggage claim...and no luggage came. Big surprise! A sweet French lady in the office started checking around for us and finally after another hour said I think I have good news for you but we have to wait and see....A flight from NY had just landed and she said it should be on that flight. At this point I was not holding my breath.. She told us to go to the baggage area again and sure enough our luggage came out... Torn up and filthy but there! I said some Thanks Yous to The Lord and felt like I had just been given a miracle!!! So then we headed to find the metro and head to our hotel. First, Ihad to wait in another line for another hour for our visitor passes (those were for the metro and the buses for 5 days.) Way cheaper then a Taxi....

We got off at a stop near our hotel and when we popped out of the ground this is what we saw..........

The Notre Dame....It was a bit overwhelming popping out of a dark tunnel and seeing beautiful building everywhere we looked. We just stood there with out mouths open for a while. (this picture was taken with my small camera because my good one was packed away.) Then we started to try and find our hotel which ended up being about and hour to an hour and a half. No one new were the street to our Hotel was...no one. We had Lots of luggage that we were totting around. We were tired, grumpy, and 6 hours ahead of schedule which meant no sleep. The maps did not help other then we were in the right area, our street was not on any of the maps. Karlton would leave me and Joel with all the luggage while he would go look and then I took a turn with no luck. Finally, I went to a hotel and they printed us off a google map and after 30-40 min. Karlton found it...... At this time I was about to fall over....While we were waiting on Karlton to come back Joel and I got something to eat at a Bakery.

This is where Karlton left us while he tried to find the hotel.... At least it was pretty!

Once he finally found the hotel it was only about 2 blocks from where we were standing lol.... It was in an alley with no rd sign. We were so happy to check into our cute little hotel even though it was a day late ;0)!

Praise God we made it safe and sound and in one piece!

BTW...We Loved our little boutique hotel! Hotel Central Saint Germain. It was immaculately clean!

We made it back from Paris yesterday after one wonderful, beautiful, and overwhelming trip! I will be telling y'all about out trip more in detail in the days to come. Right now I am just busy trying to catch up on everything and trying to get back into the swing of things. We are really tired, well I am anyway. The jet lag really hit hard. I did not want to leave you all hanging so hear are a few pictures to start off with. I did not take as many pictures as I thought I would....only 714.....seriously thought I would take way more ;0).

This was Joel's first time flying and was givin' a run down on how to fly a plane by the pilot along with some pilot wings.

This is the only family picture we had taken of us :0(.... I seriously did not trust to many people with my camera.

We stayed a couple of minutes by foot from the river so you will be seeing tons of these pictures.

The Notre Dame Cathedral. This was just across the bridge from us and the first thing we saw when we popped up from the metro.

Paris has gorgeous flowers and garden every where!

We had a really bad hail storm last night....actually 3 of them.... Here is a piece of hail from our first storm. I have also posted a short video, make sure you turn the sound up so you can hear how loud the hail was. We have many dents in both of our vehicles from this storm. It was kinda scarey! The kids were all excited ( good and bad)! Lilee looked outside and said Wow! It it is snowing really big! lol.... It sounded horrible hitting the house! I though it was coming right through our house. How about you all did??? Did you have any hail last night?

FFF - A Dog And Her Boy

Meet Daisy.....she is our oldest dog. She really does not care for her picture to be taken. I have tried on several occasions and she just seems to be a little camera shy.

Projects Update

Here are the pictures of some of the projects that we have been working on around here lately, as I mentioned in a previous post....I took these pictures over the weekend and am now just getting time to post them.

Here is a picture of a before and after......The above picture was taken of a mural I had painted when I redone the older 2 boys room about 4 1/2 yrs ago, in a pirate theme. Now that they are both teens the pirate mural was just not working for them any longer, so it had to go. I loved their aged and cracked painted walls and did not want to change them so I painted over their mural and then framed it out so that they can hang their awards and plaques up in. We have hung Jordan's awards up, but have not hung Josiah's up yet. I think this looks a lot older for them now, don't you? BTW......It took 10 coats of paint to cover that mural :0).

I finally painted my Kitchen Island to match the Cabinets. I also test painted the rear wall in the kitchen to see if I was going to like this green. I think I am... This is only one coat and I still have to trim it in. This paint is one shade darker then the bathroom we remodeled over the summer. I took one with the lights off and one with it on because the color was not turning out right. Still don't know that it did.

Here is our above ground garden beds that Jordan and Karlton put in. I planted them. Well 2 of them, I still have 1 more that will need plant when we get back from our trip. I planted corn in the middle bed and it finally started coming up this week.

My lettuce, Cabbage, Broccoli, and Strawberries.

Karlton has been rebuilding my storage building that he tore down last Mothers Day. Hopefully by this Mothers Day it will be finished :0)

I also finished painting and caulking the new attic door/stairs that Karlton put in a couple of weekends ago. But I didn't feel the need to take pictures of it.....didn't think you would really want to see it anyway. lol....

So these are the projects we have been working on over the past month......

Carowinds

Saturday we took 4 of the 5 kids to Carowinds on opening day. (Josiah stayed the weekend with his best buddy for his Birthday.) This was the girls first time going to Carowinds. I had put it off because Sara Ava used to be terrified of anything dressed in a costume. But she is over that now... ;0). Santa brought the kids Season Passes for Christmas so this was our trip of several this year.

This picture turned out blurry because my camera had gotten bumped in the stroller and had messed my settings up. I am posting this picture because it is the only one I got of all 4 kids.

As soon as we got into the park all the boys jumped on this ride. I know you can not see them....but, Joel and Jordan are on the front row. This is Joel's first time getting to ride bigger rides. Last time we went he was little. There are still several rides he can not or will not ride. lol..... While all the guys were riding this ride the girls and I went to meet some Characters....Sara Ava is not terrified anymore, actually of hardly anything! She rode more rides then anyone this day.

Then Karlton took Lilee on this crazy ride, and Jordan went with Sara Ava. It looks harmless, but it can get mighty wild! Especially with the bad winds we had this day! Joel skipped this one when he saw one of these things hit the building and a tree. Didn't blame him one bit! Jordan and Sara Ava won this round of flying the highest!

While we were waiting for the Old Scooby Doo Roller Coaster (don't know the new name ?) to reopen, the girls went a few rounds on the jets.

Sara Ava ran into her friend Gracie from church/school. They got to ride 1 ride together.

Finally we broke into 2 groups. Jordan was ready to ride some big rides while I took the girls to ride some more kiddie rides. That is why there are not many pictures of the boys.

They drove a boat, and rode a roller coaster all by themselves... They are the 2nd to last car. Can you see their little arms up in the air??....so precious! Lilee finally lived her life long dream.... she has been telling me for months that she has wanted to ride a roller coaster her whole life! lol..........Now she has ridden 2!

So what did I do all day other then wait on everyone and take pictures and video???? And I will be doing it all over again soon....But, hopefully it will be warmer next time! I can survive the heat, but I can not survive being cold!

Tuesday Jordan ran 3 events in our home track meet. Josiah did not run this night because he had not been at practice the day before. So this was Jordan's night....... I did not make it for the first event that he ran, a 4X8 relay, but made it for the last 2. These meets last 3-4 hours. You will notice by the sun going down which races he ran in... His 2nd race was a 1600 meter (1 mile), the first 5 pictures. Then he ran a 3200 meter ( 2 mile), are the last 4 pictures. He came in 3rd place in his last event, which is Really good considering who he has to run with! He came in 2nd for our team. I was one proud mama!!!!

And Yes........my child is the only one running with socks jacked up to his knees..... It is embarrassing.....

Family Update.... We've Been Busy and My New Product

Wow! I can not believe it has been a week since I last posted! It has been a busy week for us! I have also been painting a lot lately! I repainted my Kitchen Island to match my cabinets, I painted over the summer. Everything looks so bright and clean now. I am also getting ready to paint the walls. I have been painting different colors on my walls so see which color I am going to like. I chose a yellow/gold and a moss green. I want it to be bright and clean looking in their. So far I think green is winning..... but that is not a surprise since I am a green kind of girl! I will have to post some pictures soon!

This weekend has been rainy and freezing....well, freezing to me anyway! Going from the 80's at the beginning of the week to the 40's today has not set well with my blood! I'm a Summer Girl all the way!

We have also been doing more indoor projects today. I have started painting the big boys wall (partial). I am trying to cover up a pirate map mural that they have grown out of. I leveled out a rectangle and tapped it off to paint. I am painting it red, but it is not covering very well even after 4 coats. I have worked with red before and it is tricky!So New Plan.... Tomorrow I am going to go buy some black chalk board paint and then after it dries we will add frame around it. The boys want to put all their plaques and pictures in the framed out area....When this is finished I will takes some pictures of it too. Maybe some before and after pictures. Karlton has been putting in a new attic access door/stairs today since the old (60 yrs old) one broke and has not been safe. Once he is done with that, I will have to paint it too.

The last 4 week ends we have been working outside in the yard, garden, and Karlton has been building me a new out building since he tore mine down last year. So, it has actually been nice doing indoor projects this weekend. Karlton and Jordan put in 3 above ground garden beds and so far I have planted 2 of them. I have planted Strawberries, several different kinds of lettuce, cabbage, collard greens, broccoli, and 1 bed I planted corn. In the last bed I will plant potatoes, green beans, tomatoes, and peppers. I thought I was going to plant everything but the tomatoes today but with the rain, I will wait another day ;0) For now I have 5 tomatoe plants growing in my bedroom in front of our french doors. lol....

I am getting ready for another 5K, I will be running in 2 weeks. Actually I am training for my 10K. I am ready now, but just have to find one on a date I can do. I have been running 6.2 miles now for several weeks now! Finally!

And Last but not least....... something that has been taking up some of my time is we are getting ready for PARIS!!!! Yes, you heard me right! I am FINALLY GOING TO PARIS!!!! I have been trying to get there for 16 years! YIPPEE!!! Can you tell I am excited!!!??? Karlton and I are taking Joel for his big 10 yr. old. trip. The other 2 boys got to go on a special trip for their 10th B/D's so we are trying to keep the tradition going! This is Joel's first time flying...he is the only one of us who has not flown yet and he is excited and nervous! But, he can't wait to go to Paris and see the Eiffel Tower! That is all he talks about and draws pictures of! So get ready you will be hearing more about that soon....

Update on Marvin and a correction, I said $5,000 was raised it was only $1,500! I copied this from Vanessa Robichaux's wall.... got an update on Marvin. He had his first surgery that we raised the $1,500 for but only an adult cornea was available. Sharon said he will need another surgery when a child cornea is available and they're hoping it will be soon. This will be an additional $800 though:-( So anyone who wants to help let me know!

Joel's Banner

Joel was chosen from his 4th grade class to go the an art studio with other kids from around our city to paint a banner. Then they hung them all a long main street and at this historic old home that the city now owns.

Joel banner is of a dragon, in case you could not tell.

Joel was showing me which one was his. We drove all around trying to find his. A few years ago it was on Main St. Joel is a very talented little artist and I hope he continues it through out all his school year!

Heart Hair

My Baby Boy Joel hit the double digits today. I can not believe he is 10 yrs. old already! Seems just like yesterday when we brought this little bundle home from the hospital. Joel is such a sweet, smart, and good boy We are so proud of him!

A Get-A-Way!

Karlton and I were able to sneak away for some much needed ALONE time to Charleston this weekend. My parents kept all 5 kids for us so we could go. We only went for 1 night but it was soooooooo nice!

We got there around 10:30 on Saturday morning and did a little shopping ( at the old market) and we stopped by the candy store and bought us a warm Praline... yummy!

We had planned on going to our favorite French restaurant but they closed down......bummer! So we went to our other favorite Restaurant 82 Queens. I was not at all disappointed to go there! ;0)

Then we had some time to kill until we were able to check in to our Inn. We used to stay here all the time until the girls came home. So, it has been about 5 yrs. since we have been to the Meeting St. Inn. We Love this place. I highly recommend it! They have a delicious Wine and Cheese at 5:30 and a wonderful breakfast too!

Our room.... I love these high rice beds..... the kind you have to have the stairs for or just a really good run and jump to get up on! lol.... We have a bed like this but it is not this tall.... I told Karlton he will have to work on making our bed a little taller, he agreed.

The rest of the pictures are just of us walking around the historic city and doing some more shopping on Kings Street.

Karlton and I were able to go to a movie that night. We saw "Just Go With It" and it was hilarious! The next morning I woke up and went for a run...I thought I would only do about 3.5 miles but ended up loving the run so much I ran my most so far.... 6.3 miles! I am ready for my 10K now ;0) I ran down to the Battery and up along the sea wall to the water park and back to the hotel and went again because it was so Beautiful! We had wonderful weather, it even got really warm on Sat! We could not have asked for a better trip!

I will be posting more pictures over the next few days....I just wanted to savor them....

Formal Tutu Dress

Remember the formal tutu dress I made for one of my customers? Well here is the little cutie who wore it....Isn't she precious!!!! Here daddy took her to a father daughter dance and her mommy wanted her to wear a tutu dress and asked if I could make one..... I even made the tutu puff hair bow to match. She even got on the dance floor and shook her bootie. I Love it!!!

Happy Valentines Day! How is your Valentines Day going to be spent? My kids woke up to home made Valentine Cards this morning from me (us) with some little goodies....heart shaped little personal cakes and candy. The gave the girls the little message candies and the boy chocolate. The kids exchanged their cards and candy last night to one another since we have such a busy day today. They were dressed for their parties and took their Valentine Cards and candy to school today! Well....Sara Ava and Joel did. Josiah took a big box of chocolates out the door for his girl friend ;0).

I gave Karlton his chocolates and picture Valentines Card. It all has a Charleston meaning to it since that is where were will be spending our Valentines, next weekend....Alone! We have not been to Charleston alone since before the girls came home from Guatemala. We are staying at our Favorite place... The Meeting Street Inn. It takes us back in time (which I Love!) and they have wonderful breakfast and wine and cheese! The card I gave Karlton looked like this................

He took this picture of me at The Inn when we were in Charleston for the day back in August. Karlton took me in the fence and said " here at least let me get a picture of you here since we have not been here in forever! " ;0)

This will be our special gift to one another and I can't wait! There is a really yummy French restaurant that we will be eating at that is just down the street from this Inn, with lots of shopping near by! ;0) We also are planning on going to a movie....and just walking around the historic section where we will be staying. One of my favorite things to do there is to look at all the old houses and gardens, and go on a tour of one or two. What more could a girl ask for!!!! Oh yeah......Karlton surprised me with these beautiful roses on Thursday! I was shocked... the night before I was saying to my Bible Study that after almost 16 years of marriage I don't get flowers anymore. I think someone said something...now who was it?? lol...... ;0) Karlton did good didn't he!?

6 Miles

I ran my best ever so far today.......6 road miles in 56 minutes, with no stops. Yippee!!! I am running in my first 10K next month, I only have 2 tenths of a mile left to go before I am ready. I could have done it today easily and almost did, but my legs started getting a little stiff so I chose to stick with my 6 miles for a couple of weeks. But....in 2 weeks I will be ready to roll! hopefully ;0)....... Today was the perfect running day. 60 degrees and sunny..... I was loving it!!!! 20 months ago I would have never dreamed of me running 6 miles let alone a mile. All I can say is it is in my blood now!!! All you runners know what I am talking about....Don't you? :0D

I have been really busy lately making things for Cutie Patutuz! So.... that is why I have not been posting anything lately! I have not really been taking many pictures either because I have been so busy. But......here are a few little project that I have been working on for myself and the girls.

This is my Shoe Candy I made for my shoes. Aren't they cute! They are removable....I actually put them on a hair clips so I guess they could be worn in the hair too. I also want to make some Valentine Shoe Candy... But, I need to get going on that since Valentines Day is Monday ;0).

I also have made the girls matching shirts in both colors with their Initials..... I really want to make some ruffle pants for these! If I can ever find enough time to make 4 pr. of pants..... Unless I can find someone who can sew that would like to trade out some business....lol...... I would Seriously do that though!!! Anyone????
