We're back from our little weekend trip to Waynesville, NC. Which is about 20 west of Asheville. We had a great time! I would say it was relaxing which it was, but we were there so little of time, that we packed as much as we could in. I was exhausted!.....Lets just say I was out during our movies both nights.
It was really cold! The nights got down to 29 degrees, both mornings we had frost. The old 1930's farm house was not central heated. There was a wood burning stove in our room that we did not light because I am allergic to smoke. We had a small space heater in our room, there was a wall heater in the front of the house and a heater/ space heater in the bathroom. The bathroom was the warmest spot in the house. There was also a gas heater in the hall that we could not get to work. It was very windy the whole time we were there! That made it feel so much colder! It actually got up to about 64 by Sat. evening while we were at an Apple Festival. Which was nice! Then the sun started to go down and it was freezing again.
Anyway, here are some pictures of where we stayed and what we saw walking around the house. The last 2 of 3 pictures are on a mountain that Karlton and I ran up. We took a 3 mile run that totally kicked our butts! I started getting bad cramps in my side on the way down. It only effected my breathing, not so much the physical end of things like I thought it would . Karlton said it was the altitude.
The lady who owns Frog Holler loves to garden. Her yard was beautiful in Oct. I bet it is gorgeous in the Spring and Summer! She has a beautiful Koi pond too! More about that later..... I have tons more to write about and of course pictures to share but.......... I have to go and catch up on a mountain of laundry. I have done 3 loads since we got home yesterday evening, but I have at least about 7 more to go!
