8 years ago today....... (Part 1) EDITED- Added Part 2

At 9:35 pm Joel William Austin Shrum came into the world 5 weeks early weighing 7 lbs. 11 oz. Perfect and healthy!

Mommy and Joel's 1st picture!

Josiah was a proud big brother!

2 days later you came home from the hospital.

At 6 days old you came home from the hospital for a second time. You had yellow jaundice and could not stay awake long enough to nurse. You started to dehydrate , so they put you back in the hospital for 3 days on IVs. That is why you have that big band aid on your hand.

1 week old.

Verses that really spoke to me and helped me get through our adoptions.

(John 14:18) " I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you."

(Isaiah 43:5-6) "Do not be afraid, for I am with you,
I will bring your children from the west. Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth."

(Proverbs 25:25) "As cold water is to a thirsty soul : so is good
news from a far country."

(Matthew 6:25-34) The do not worry chapter.
This is the chapter that told me we would adopt again and the
baby girl woud be named Lily (Lilee). "The lilies of the field".
This is a great reminder of why we should not worry, God will take care of his people!

(Psalms 82: 3-4) "Defend the cause of the weak and the fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Resue the weak and neady; deliver them from the hand of the wicked."
