Once Upon A Time...............

there was a little Mayan Princess who had gone to a Steven Curtis Chapman concert and volunteered collecting change for orphans. She collected lots of money for a family to receive a grant for Shaohannah's Hope for 4 1/2 hours. Once she came home and got to bed it was very late and past her bedtime. When her mommy came to check on her before she went to bed this is what she found...........

Her mommy was not very happy with her because she thought she was up to late reading.

And then her mommy discovered.............

We helped Show Hope!!!!!!

We had the priviledge of helping out Shaohannah's Hope last night at Steven Curtis Chapman's concert in Rock Hill, SC!

They had asked us if we would like to volunteer in Dec. I was soooo excited! Then I found out we were being put on a backup list, because they had all the volunteers they needed. But, in February they contacted me again saying they needed our help.

With all of us being sick and us 3 girls having the flu I was not sure we were going to make it. I ended up taking Jordan and Josiah in Karlton's place, and Sara Ava. Karlton stayed home with Lilee and Joel. Lilee still has a bad cough and congestion and we knew she would not hold out for 4-5 hours. Originally Karlton and I were going to take the girls, we wanted to thank them for bringing Lilee home to us. But it didn't end up that way. So off we went through a horrible storm that flooded the roads, under tornado warnings (there were actually 6 confirmed tornados in our area) and rain I could not see to drive in anymore that soaked us to the bone!!!!! We finally made it and had a Awesome time!!!!!!

Shoahannah's hope means soooo much to our family with out them Lilee would not be here! Through Steven Curtis Chapman and Shaohannah's Hope they gave us a grant to make Lilee our forever daughter. This is such an amazing Organization that allows alot of people to be able to adopt and give orphans a family!

They just started "Show Hope " so that by giving the change or what little money you have on you or in your pockets ,can help change orphans lives.

We arrived there a little after 5 pm. They gave us a brief meeting on what we needed to do and the jobs they had for us, gave us our passes, t-shirts, buckets, and flyers and sent us off to collect change.We were split up in teams of 2. Jordan and Siah were at one entry and SaraAva and I were at another. As the people started pouring in Sara Ava handed out about 500 flyers, and we collected a little money. Then the concert started and Steven's son opened for him.

Steven explained about the Show Hope buckets. At half time we were swamped Everyone wanted to give to Sara Ava's bucket and she was sooooo cute and said Thank you to everyone! The Boys rocked!!!!!!!!! They were so excited because they filled their 5 gallon buckets full! And they had a few $100 bills! ( my 5 gallon bucket didn't do quite as well, we had to empty Sara Ava's little twice)

The total all of us(15+) volunteers collected last night was a grand $4,911. They were hoping for at least $2,000 because they had someone lined up to match another $2,000 to give a family a grant of $4,000. We were so happy to be able to help Shaohannah's Hope give another family a grant that will bring another child to their family. We even helped them get a good start for another grant.

We were able to watch a little bit of the concert and Sara Ava was sooooooooo excited to hear her favorite song he sing's "Cinderella". (Note: song that is playing) We left before the concert was over because Sara Ava was getting tired.So, no we did not get to meet Steven Curtis and Thank him for the wonderful blessing he and S.H gave us.......... On our way home the boys thanked me for bringing them to help! We all had a really great time! And I know this was a really great way to teach the boys about giving and taking care of the orphans!

We brought a bucket home to take to our church to start collecting more money to give to Shaohannah's Hope! The boys are very excited to get started!

God has given this amazing man a wonderful heart for adoptions and through his own adoptions of his 3 little girls from China. Shaohannah is his oldest adopted daughter, that how Shaohannah's Hope got its name and came to be. And now many more adoption can happen through S.H and SCC.

On a bad note. My camera was dead when we got there. I took a few pictures on my phone but they turned out pretty badly. Thats why there is no pictures of the boys they all thurned out really blurry! But they looked soooo cute in their Show Hope tees. They wore them to church this morning. They are really proud of them. I will take pictures of them in them later on.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!

CALEB (aka Uncle Boo)...."The Surfer"! Today the 14th. He is 21!!!!!!! Finally legal!

SUSAN (aka Mee Maw) Karltons mom. Her Birthday was on the 5th.

KRIS ( my sister) her B/D was also on the 5th.

And Aunt Glenda . Her B/D is on the 19th!

This is our family's big B/D month.

I'm back!!!!!!! Its been a week since I last posted!

Wow! What a week! Well 2 weeks actually!!! I knew it couldn't last forever with 7 people in a house!!! First Jordan came home from school throwing up 2 Fridays ago. He was sick all that weekend. Then Monday I started with the stomach cramps! We all went through that one. But it didn't last long thankfully. During that time Lilee started getting sick with congestion, spaciness, and up all night coughing her head off. Poor thing didn't sleep for 3 days, which ment mommy did
not sleep for 3 nights. By Friday Lilee had a fever. I took her to the Dr. and they said she had the flu! She kept her fever for 5 days and it went to 103.4 . That day I started getting dizzy and not feeling well and for the few days it kept getting worse. On Monday Sara Ava came down with a fever too! The highest hers reached was 102.8. I hope we are on the mend. We all still have lots of congestion and not feeling the greatest but the fevers are gone!!!! Karlton has not been feeling well either since last Sat. but says its not enough to keep him down.

PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR FAMILY TO HEAL!!!!!!!!! And that the other boys do not get sick! We have been shut ins for 2 weeks and I am starting to loose it. I did go to Walmart yesterday while Karlton watched the kids. I took Jordan with me to help but I found out its not really helpful when your buggy ends up being twice as full from him putting lots of extras in it. That became a expensive shopping trip. I don't think Jordan will be coming to help anymore! Hee Hee!

Joel Easter Egg Hunting at our Church April 2006. He was 5 yr. old. I don't think he wanted to smile!!! He went through this stage for a little while. He said cheese with no smile! But now... He Is A HAM!!!!

I have finally caught up with the girls pictures. Now I can post their FFF pictures in the same month. Lilee was born in April 2006. Even though we did not get her referral until May 2nd.

Here is Sara Ava in April 2006. She was 2 years and 3 months old. These were her monthly update pictures! They had her dressed all up for Easter.
