I LOVE their rolls..... which I had at least 3 of. ;0) Their salad, steak, and loaded baked potatoes are my FAV too!!!! Every thing was delicious right down to the peanuts! Lol!

Then we went to pick Strawberries.... that was a lot of fun! We even bought fresh homemade strawberry ice cream at the little farm market. That was the best Strawberry Ice cream I have ever had!!!! I will share picture of my special weekend tomorrow.

We Did It.........

Josiah and I ran our first race today.................

Before the race....

The starting line-up. There were 173 people who participated.

And we're off.... I am the girl in the hot pink shirt w/ the blond hair beside the blue car. Josiah is behind me but you can only see his shorts.

Still going strong....At this point we had been running a little more then a 1/2 of a mile. Josiah is coming up the hill behind me.... the little booger stayed behind me 90% of the race.....

until the last little bit of the race when my stomach started hurting and I thought I was going to throw up.... He passed me. I had to stop not once but twice to walk .... I never have to do that on 3.2 miles now. Arrrrrrrrg!

I caught back up with him and passed him the first time .... but the second time I stopped I told him to go go go!!!!! He passed me again....... you can see me trailing behind him. Josiah only started running this week and this was the 2nd time he ran the 3.2 miles. I have been running this for a while now. I have been training him on his pace and his breathing this week and on gunning the last .200 of a mile and to give it all he had!

And he did!!!!!!! I unfortunately did/could not. I was praying to the Lord to just let me finish the race! He beat me by 32 seconds. His time was 30 min. even, and mine was 30:32. Out of the 173 participants he came in 40th and I came in 41st. I was in the top 15 women. Karlton said I came in at # 11 for the women???;0) I would have done way better if my breathing was better and I did not get sick and have to walk. Oh well!

This course was all up hill and extremely difficult. I run hills but not this many and certainly not as long as those hills were. My asthma was giving me fits and then my stomach..... but I made it all in one piece. That was one goal and my other goal was not to come in dead last.... and I didn't! YA!!! I wanted to be at least in the middle of the pack.... that is what I had hoped for (for the best).... I did way better then I could have ever imagined..... Karlton was so proud of us and I have to admit so am I!

Here we are after the race all sweaty and dead tired! As soon as I came though that finish line I sat down anywhere I could. LOL!!!
THANK YOU LORD for letting me share this experience with my son today!

Preparing...............

Josiah is ready to take off w/ me in the morning .................

( I am pretending this is a picture of me instead of Lilee running.... because first of all she is fast.... and second of all she is a lot cuter then I am running!)

I am preparing myself mentally and physically for my race tomorrow morning..... Josiah is running with me. He has been training with me this week and has come a long way...... I am very proud of him for running since he just started this week and especially for wanting to run a race.
I think its has to do with the competition thing! I wish I could have done that.... decided a few days before a race that I want to run..... go out and practice 3 times and be ready to roll! I guess that is what being a kids is all about! Ahhhhh! I have been doing this a for a little more then 11 mo. and just now feel that I might be ready... Lol!
I am taking today off to rest so I will be ready at 7:30 am to run my first 5K. I almost ran 20 miles this week. That is about 3 more miles then I am use to. I also worked on my speed running 2 miles in 17 min. Which is great but that 3rd mile really slows me down. My body has really been aching this week with more miles and speed that I hope I feel OK tomorrow morning! ;0) I am taking Sunday off on Mothers Day to REST as well! Looking forward to that!
Please say a prayer for us in the morning that we both finish the race all in one piece!

Almost Wordless Wednesday......Better Late Then Never

Here is yesterdays Wordless Wed. picture...... I picked it out but never got around to posting it..... so here it is a day late ;0).

This is one of my FAVORITE pictures of Lilee with her daddy! (Lilee was 15 mo. old in this pic.)This was taken on the last visit trip Karlton and I took ( in July 2007) to see Lilee in Antigua Guatemala before she came home.

She came home a few months later Oct. 2007, at the age of 17 1/2 months old.

In Training.............

1 Corinthians 9: 24-27

" Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize."

(These are my running shoes I bought back in August. I sure wish they still looked this good! )

As you have guessed by now, I am in (hard) training this week..... I have been running since the last of May last year, not even a year yet...... This Sat. I will be running my first race (5k). I never have dreamed I would be hear already! I thought it would have taking me another yr. before I was ready. Since this is my first race my goals are .....to finish the race and not come in dead last. Other then that I don't really care ;0).

I think Karlton is more excited about this then I am! He is giving me lots of advice on what fighters do before a big fight ;0). I am trying to pursued Jordan to run, I know he would do good, since he runs Cross Country. Josiah is wanting to run with me, he is on a trail right now since he does not run. I am making him practice with me all the week. He usually rides his bike while I run, but yesterday he ran the last 1.5 miles of my 4.1 miles with me and did good! He came home and collapsed on the floor breathing hard for about 15 min. though ......Lol..... He is the one usually making fun of me saying I am slow and that running is easy!

I have been running 4 miles a day this week but I am only going to focus on the 5k (3.2 miles the rest of the week.) I have been changing my course everyday to make it harder and adding lots of hills in there. I am trying to shave some time off my minutes......The best I have done this week is an 8 min. mile. But that was the first mile...... My total was 37 min for 4 miles which is pretty good ( for me) since I took 1 quick walk break. Usually I run about a 9 - 10 min. mile when I am not trying to prove anything other then to finish my run.......

Well, I hope I have not bored you all to death!!!! Say a little prayer for me for Sat.... and wish me LUCK! I am going to need it!

My Garden Part 1

This is a tiny little rose that grows in my garden on a huge rose bush. That bush is covered with these dainty little roses.

I was just playing with color in this picture..... What do you think?

Triple Coupons At Harris Teeter

It is triple coupons at Harris Teeter this week. Make sure you make a trip and use those coupons... it is well worth it!!!! Harris Teeter is my Favorite grocery store!!! Its the classiest grocery store around! Clean, the best products, and friendly people! The girls love to go to get a free balloon and cookie, the boys love all their free samples and I love the cup holder on the buggy to put my Chia Tea Latte in from Starbucks. Most HT have a Starbucks. =0)

They had triple coupons right before Easter and I scored $90 worth of groceries for free..... well almost free! I ended up paying the tax.

The only bad thing about HT is that you can only use 20 coupons a day. So I end up usually making a few trips. Here is how I have done so far this week........

TRIP 1 - I bought $40.18 worth of groceries for $7.09

TRIP 2- I bought $51.56 worth of groceries for $8.45

TRIP 3- Was the BEST!!!! I bought $104 worth of groceries for $5.63 SCORE!!!!!!

__________________

Total from all 3 trips = I spent $21.17 For $195.74 worth of groceries!
That is a 89% savings

Favorite Friday Fotos "Taking The Leap"

Joel taking the leap.....

We were in the Bahamas last April on a cruise..... We were jumping off this really jagged and dangerous rock, but it was so much fun! The water was clear and beautiful just like I like it. I will not get in if I can not see my feet :0).
