Josiah and I ran our first race today.................
Before the race....

The starting line-up. There were 173 people who participated.

And we're off.... I am the girl in the hot pink shirt w/ the blond hair beside the blue car. Josiah is behind me but you can only see his shorts.

Still going strong....At this point we had been running a little more then a 1/2 of a mile. Josiah is coming up the hill behind me.... the little booger stayed behind me 90% of the race.....

until the last little bit of the race when my stomach started hurting and I thought I was going to throw up.... He passed me. I had to stop not once but twice to walk .... I never have to do that on 3.2 miles now. Arrrrrrrrg!

I caught back up with him and passed him the first time .... but the second time I stopped I told him to go go go!!!!! He passed me again....... you can see me trailing behind him. Josiah only started running this week and this was the 2
nd time he ran the 3.2 miles. I have been running this for a while now. I have been training him on his pace and his breathing this week and on gunning the last .200 of a mile and to give it all he had!
And he did!!!!!!! I unfortunately did/could not. I was praying to the Lord to just let me finish the race! He beat me by 32 seconds. His time was 30 min. even, and mine was 30:32. Out of the 173 participants he came in 40th and I came in 41st. I was in the top 15 women. Karlton said I came in at # 11 for the women???;0) I would have done way better if my breathing was better and I did not get sick and have to walk. Oh well!

This course was all up hill and extremely difficult. I run hills but not this many and certainly not as long as those hills were. My asthma was giving me fits and then my stomach..... but I made it all in one piece. That was one goal and my other goal was not to come in dead last.... and I didn't! YA!!! I wanted to be at least in the middle of the pack.... that is what I had hoped for (for the best).... I did way better then I could have ever imagined.....
Karlton was so proud of us and I have to admit so am I!

Here we are after the race all sweaty and dead tired! As soon as I came though that finish line I sat down anywhere I could.
LOL!!!
THANK YOU LORD for letting me share this experience with my son today!
