Bahama Bound

Karlton, Joel , and I will be heading out on a cruise to the Bahamas in 2 more weeks. This is our first cruise, so we are very excited. We will be spending the day in Freeport and in Nassau.

We are leaving the other 4 kiddos with our parents. Joel is the only one who has not been out of the US so it is his turn to be spoiled! He really wanted to go on an airplane, but he will be on a big boat instead.

The prices are very cheap right now so we were able to get a suite with a balcony.

We will be swimming with the dolphins which has always been a dream of mine.....

And seeing the Atlantis, and doing some snorkeling too....

Have any of you ever been on a cruise? Do you have any tips, must do's, or must see to share with us? We would love to hear your input! Also let us know your fav. beaches you went to!!!

Wow! That will be so much fun for you, and Joel will have a great time coming along! We love cruises. Haven't been to the Bahamas in quite a few years but the local straw markets remind me of shopping in Guatemala! Plan to pay a bit extra for all the tips that they seem to expect on the cruise ship. Everyone seems to have their hands out for tips including busboys, cabin stewards, host, waiter, and others I can't remember. I just remember that it really adds up!!! You will love the cruise...have a great time!

We have been on to cruises and you will absolutely love it!!!! Your going to eat, eat and eat a bunch of wonderful food!!! Take advantage of the free room service!!! Just order for the heck of it even if your not hungry!!! lol

I have been to the bahamas a few years back and you will love it as well!!! Very pricey there, that is for sure! Make sure you try the conk fritters and the have a awesome beer that they make right there on the island. I think it's called Calik?

I know your going to have a blast! Take lots of pictures!!!!!

Have fun! Have fun! Have fun! Oh, and did I say, "HAVE FUN!" You will love it. Take your camera wherever you go. I missed taking a picture of a whale. I didn't want to go get my camera, because I was afraid I would miss the whale. Oh well, it is a wonderful memory that Dad and I both have.

Joel, you will love it. And I want to tell you, "HAVE FUN".

We can't wait to have the kids. We're gonna have fun, too.

Love ya'll bunches,
Mom (Nana)

My hubby and I just went on one in Dec.- It was so much fun!!!!

Tips-
-Take empty water bottles (you can fill up on ice tea/ water before you get off the boat and they are nice to have when sitting by the pool)

-Buy a water camera now (you will want one!)- they over charge on the boat and I wished I had thought of that before we left!
Have a blast!!!!!!!

I have been on 3 cruises to different places. I would recommend taking some motion sickness medicine or having some motion sickness bracelets just in case. I am not prone to motion sickness, but on 2 of the 3 cruises, the last night was very rocky and it made me feel not so great. Other than that, have a blast! And take lots of pictures of course.

I'm so excited for your trip with Joel! It will be so much fun, I'm sure!!! I just read the post about your dad and I'm so glad everything is ok!!! I was behind in reading since we were gone last week! I love all the hair pieces you are making, too. They look great!! How fun!
I just had a thought...will you email me any tips you have on transitioning from 2 to 3? You are the expert!! :)

Have fun! Just remember to keep track of any purchases- it can add up really fast. Also, pack your suitcase, then take half of it out. Cruises are the worst for me for overpacking. Take lots of pictures!
